I am Dr. Monther Ahmed Alogiliy, born in the town of Balila in Jerash Governorate in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. I completed my primary, preparatory and secondary education in the schools of the Ministry of Education in Jordan. After that, I moved outside Jordan to India to complete my bachelor?s degree in English language and literature from the University of Pune in the state of Maharashtra in 1992. I then continued my master?s degree in English literature in the same country in 1995. I returned to my home country, Jordan, and worked as an English teacher in the schools of the Jordanian Ministry of Education for two years.
I am married to a Jordanian doctor who specializes in obstetrics and gynecology, and I have three children, a girl and two boys.
I continued my academic progress after I received a fully funded scholarship from the European Union through the National Foundation for Scholarships in Greece based on competitive criteria with a large group of researchers. There, I learned Greek for a year and started my research career at the National University of Athens in Athens and obtained a PhD in Applied English as a major and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and Reading Strategies as a minor.
During my stay in Greece, I worked as a research and teaching assistant in the same department, and also as an assistant advisor for foreign students, especially Arab students.
I returned to my country, Jordan, and got a job at Al-Balqa Applied University in the city of Salt in the English Language and Literature Department affiliated with the Salt College of Humanities, and I am still teaching to this day in the same department.
